Alfa Romeo hires another Ferrari engineer!
After 17 years of loyal service at Ferrari, Alessandro Cinelli has decided to leave the Maranello team to join the Swiss team Alfa Romeo Racing.

A few weeks ago, Alfa Romeo announced the promotion of Jan Monchaux from head of aerodynamics to technical director. The French-German had left his position vacant. To replace him, former Ferrari engineer Alessandro Cinelli is now taking up the mantle. The Italian has the hefty task of helping the Hinwil team continue its progression in the rankings.
« I am joining this young team with the mission to build on the solid foundations already established and to help produce results on the right track. I am convinced that we can continue in the right direction and bring even more success to the team. » stated the person concerned.
It is no secret that the two Italian brands maintain very close ties, so a transfer of this kind is not really surprising. Cinelli made his debut in Formula 1 with Tyrrell, where he was a junior aerodynamics engineer. He then joined Williams for 5 seasons before landing at Ferrari for 17 years as head of the experimental aero group. His experience with the Scuderia should greatly aid Alfa Romeo Racing.
The Italian engineer does not seem to be afraid of facing this new challenge: « I am very happy with my appointment at Sauber Motorsport and I am eager to take on the challenge of leading an extremely talented group as head of aerodynamics. »
