Alain Prost becomes Non-Executive Director of Renault Sport
The four-time French world champion takes a more significant role within the Renault team by being appointed Non-Executive Director of the sporting branch of the diamond-shaped firm.

Since Renault’s return as a constructor team in Formula 1, Alain Prost, the legendary driver of the French firm, even though he won only one title with them while they were Williams’ engine supplier in 1993, has been a high-profile consultant.
More and more present at the Grand Prix, especially since he left his role as Team Director in Formula E with Renault e-dams last year, Alain Prost has been promoted, since July 12, to the position of Non-Executive Director of Renault Sport Racing Limited, replacing Thierry Bollorré.
The team has not communicated on this information, but Alain Prost’s role is becoming somewhat more significant within the team, alongside Cyril Abiteboul, who remains the General Director but is occasionally the target of some criticism regarding the team’s average performances.
Meanwhile, the Abiteboul/Prost duo is reminiscent of the one formed by Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda at Mercedes until the Austrian’s passing.
