Red Bull breaks its own record in Germany!
In Germany, the very recent record for the fastest pit stop held by Red Bull since the British Grand Prix has been broken... by Red Bull!

It was on the 46th lap of the German Grand Prix that Verstappen’s mechanics changed his tires in a record pit stop of 1.88 seconds. This lightning-fast pit stop allowed the Dutch driver to maintain the lead in the Grand Prix and secure an impressive victory. In addition to this new record, the Pit Crew recorded 5 of the fastest pit stops. It is astounding to see the mechanics break this record with wider tires than before, weighing nearly 20kg. The drivers are not the only ones pushing their physical limits.
For the record, Red Bull had already set the fastest pit stop in Formula 1 at 1.90 seconds two weeks ago at Silverstone. It’s also the team from Milton Keynes which, in 2013, held the record for the fastest pit stop at 1.92 seconds. This was during the United States Grand Prix in 2013 on Mark Webber’s car. Three years later, Williams matched this record on Felipe Massa’s car at the European Grand Prix.
Since 2015, DHL has created the DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award to reward teams and also to officially measure pit stops. Champion in 2018, Red Bull Racing is well on track to repeat this feat. With a 78-point lead over Williams in the standings for the teams with the best pit stops, the Austrian team currently leads this championship with mastery.
