Official: Max Verstappen to replace Vergne at Toro Rosso in 2015
The young Dutch driver, Max Verstappen, will be a driver for the Toro Rosso F1 team in 2015, replacing Jean-Eric Vergne. The information was announced by Helmut Marko.

Interviewed by the Austrian television channel Servus TV, Helmut Marko, the head of the Red Bull program, confirmed the rumor: Max Verstappen, who has just joined the energy drink brand’s young driver program, will be a full-time driver for Toro Rosso in 2015.
Currently 16 years old, the Dutchman will take part in his first race at the age of 17 next season, setting a record for precocity, as the youngest driver to have raced in a Grand Prix is Jaime Alguersuari, who was 19 years and 4 months old at the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix, where he replaced Sébastien Bourdais, who had just been let go by… Toro Rosso.
The progress is meteoric for the son of former Formula 1 driver Jos Verstappen: after seven years of karting, Max is now a driver in European F3, where he holds the 2nd position in the championship after 27 races.
