The Monaco Grand Prix will be on the program until 2025
The FIA has announced the official calendar for the 2023 Formula 1 season. Following the announcement, the federation also announced a new agreement with Monaco to ensure that the Grand Prix will be included in the championship until at least 2025.
The calendar for the 2023 season was announced, and Monaco was able to see its Grand Prix back on the championship schedule. This could have been the 70th edition of the Grand Prix since 1950 if the 2020 one had not been canceled due to Covid.
Long threatened, like many other historic circuits such as Spa, Monza, or even Le Castellet, which will not be part of the 2023 schedule, Monaco has relied on its history to be preserved.
The new commercial rights were the reason for the possible departure of the Historic Grand Prix races, which demanded a lot of money even though they had advantages with their permanent rescheduling.
With these agreements, Monaco is assured to be on the schedule until at least 2025, much to the delight of the president of the Automobile Club of Monaco.
In the interest of the Formula 1 World Championship and after several months of negotiations, we are proud to announce that we have signed a three-year agreement with Formula 1, subject to renewal. The Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix 2023 will take place on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
The CEO of Formula 1 did not hide his pride in seeing the Monaco Grand Prix back on the schedule for another 3 years.
