Lando Norris has been discharged from the hospital

Violently ejected from the Grand Prix of Las Vegas in the third round, the British driver was transported to the hospital for further examinations. He reassured his fans on social media while Andrea Stella clarified the circumstances of the crash.

3 little turns and then they’re gone… The Las Vegas Grand Prix was short-lived for Lando Norris. He lost control in turn 12, before ending his race in the professional technicians at the bottom of the escape route. This loss of control occurred at a rather high speed, which explains the violence of the crash. The radio transmission from the McLaren driver following the accident is revealing: when asked if he is okay, he takes several seconds before responding with a breathless and marked voice.

Left with the medical car, a short stay at the hospital was necessary to make sure everything was fine. The check-ups went well and Lando Norris reassured everyone on Instagram.

According to Andrea Stella, a bump on the Strip would be the cause of the accident

The team manager explained himself just after the race and according to him, the track has a part of responsibility: « There is a bump at this spot. And you can see all the cars sparking when they pass over this bump. I think the combination of the bump and cold tires may have caught him off guard. »

Andrea Stella also placed emphasis on several factors that could have led to the crash: « Honestly, it’s the same bump for everyone, so it simply depends on your speed, the condition of your tires, potentially how your car is positioned there, and your distance from the car in front of you ».

He does not hide his intentions to see the track layout evolve in the future: « I think that this bump, if we continue to race at night, should be corrected because the tires will always be cold, with low grip and it will become a very tricky turn. »
