Mecachrome, an engineering company for what is currently known as the unfreezing of F1 single-seater engines, finds itself in a financially delicate situation.
The company, involved in F1, GP2, as well as in the aerospace industry, announced this week that its losses for the last quarter amounted to 17.5 million dollars, which is more than 11,725,000 euros.
Based in Montreal, Mecachrome is experiencing delays in certain aerospace programs, as well as in the freezing of F1 engines, which includes technical developments and regulatory modifications.
His director, Gérard Casella, stated that the company was starting to work on a restructuring plan.
Mecachrome has been directly involved in F1 since the late 90s and also participates in the engine assembly process for the Renault team.
The company also produces engines and gearboxes for the GP2 series.
