Due to a scheduling conflict between the WEC championship and Formula E, Sébastien Buemi is unable to participate in the two New York ePrix races. Therefore, Pierre Gasly will fill in at Renault eDams.

He thus extends his lead over his main rival Lucas Di Grassi.
