Formula E unveils provisional calendar for season 12
With five races remaining before the end of season 11, Formula E has just unveiled its schedule for season 12, the last of the Gen3 era.

For the final season of Gen3 single-seaters, with an evolution currently competing in season 11 before the transition to Gen4, Formula E has decided to go big. With 18 races, season 12 promises to be the longest in the history of this championship, which was born in 2014. With the first race on December 6, 2025, and the last on August 16, 2026, drivers and their teams will have their work cut out for them.
As in season 11, the inaugural race will take place in Sao Paulo before switching in 2026 to a race at the Autodrome Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico. The first novelty comes from the Miami race, which has been moved forward to before the Jeddah double-header. The city in Florida will thus host Formula E for the third time in its history… on a third different circuit. After the urban circuit of Biscayne Bay in season 1 and the Homestead-Miami Speedway in season 11, the electric single-seaters will discover the Miami International Autodrome and its Hard Rock Stadium.
After Jeddah, Formula E will, for the first time in its history, hold a race in Spain. It will take place on March 21 at the Jarama circuit, which the electric single-seaters are familiar with, having already conducted pre-season testing there.
No races are scheduled in April before the two planned in Berlin on the first weekend of May, followed by those in Monaco two weeks later. After two highly contested races this season, the Principality will once again host two events on May 16 and 17, which will be the highlight of the season.
The dates of May 30 and June 20 are set to host the 11th and 12th races of the season, but we do not yet know the destinations. Absent from this provisional calendar, the city of Jakarta could be one of them, but it is still too early to confirm. The calendar will then continue with the Asian tour and two races scheduled on the Shanghai International Circuit, followed by two more in Tokyo in July.
Finally, as is now customary, the season will close with two races in London, not at the end of July but in the heart of August.
It should be noted that as the seasons go by, Formula E is moving away from urban tracks to take place on traditional or semi-urban circuits. For season 12, Sao Paulo, Monaco, Tokyo, and to a lesser extent Jeddah and London can be considered urban circuits.
Furthermore, out of the ten circuits currently scheduled, five are shared with Formula 1; Mexico, Miami, Jeddah, Monaco, and Shanghai.
