Towards a Renewal of the Canadian Grand Prix?
According to the Canadian press, the Montreal weekend could be associated with the announcement of the extension of the current contract linking Formula 1 to the Canadian Grand Prix for an additional ten years.

While information was recently circulating that there would be no future for Canada in F1 due to a lack of agreement between the parties, with Bernie Ecclestone demanding modernization works on the circuit costing 30 million euros and a 4% indexation of the circuit. However, there seems to have been a turn of events.
Patrick Tremblay, journalist for TVA Sports, expressed himself in his column in the Journal de Montréal: « There’s one step left to be taken, Thursday morning in Ottawa at the treasury board meeting, but the bulk of the work has been done, » he declares.
According to this journalist, there are still a few details to finalize: According to one of my sources, there is one last point to conclude, but I don’t know more.
Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre is said to have played a key role in the extension of the Grand Prix. In the show Le Québec Matin, an agreement is reportedly close according to him.
All these improvements expected by the FIA will remain the responsibility of the city according to the statement by Patrick Tremblay: « The city will provide millions for the renovation of the paddocks and the track, Coderre’s decision had a significant impact in resolving the matter ».
