The ten teams are gathering this week in Bahrain for the pre-season testing before kicking off the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship. As before each Grand Prix weekend, the teams must select the tire compounds they wish, within the regulatory limits, to use during these winter tests.

Pirelli, the official and exclusive tire manufacturer in Formula 1 since 2011, unveiled on Tuesday the different tire allocations selected by each team. This allocation can be found in the infographic below.

We can notably observe through this infographic that McLaren and Alpine are the only two teams that have not chosen the soft tires, the C4 and C5, which may suggest that both teams will focus on understanding race stints.

On the contrary, Mercedes is the team with the fewest hard tires selected. In total, each team has access to 35 sets of tires, in addition to the four allowed for rainy conditions.

Teams should not, however, have to use them. Unlike the F2 preseason tests, rain is not expected this week in Sakhir.
