Lewis Hamilton “would love to work” with Adrian Newey at Ferrari
Lewis Hamilton declares that Adrian Newey is at the top of the list of people he wants to work with in Formula 1, while speculation circulates about a possible arrival of the engineer at Ferrari.

Following the decision of Adrian Newey to leave Red Bull, rumors are circulating about a possible move to Ferrari. If this materializes, it would be a huge boost for Hamilton’s future title hopes, after he reached an agreement last winter to join the Italian team next season.
Adrian Newey should be free next March, which is still early enough for him to have an impact on the crucial cars of the new era of rules that will arrive in 2026. Speaking before the Miami Grand Prix, Hamilton said he would be very excited to work with Newey.
« I mean, these are private conversations. But if I had to make a list of people I would love to work with, he would absolutely be the first on that list.
Recruit Newey to strengthen the Ferrari project.
Lewis Hamilton added that it was clear that Ferrari was making huge strides in F1 at the moment, and that any success it might have in recruiting Newey would only further contribute to its advance towards the front of the pack.
Adrian has such an amazing story, a record. Obviously, he has done an incredible job throughout his career collaborating with these teams, and the knowledge he possesses, I think he would be an incredible addition.
Hamilton and Newey have never worked together in F1 before, and the closest they have come to doing so was at McLaren, where the British driver joined the team in 2007, shortly after his chief engineer left for Red Bull.
« When I joined McLaren, I think it was an evolution of his car. I arrived just after his departure, so this car will have evolved from a concept on which he had worked. I felt privileged to have had the chance to touch something he had worked on.
Although some have suggested that Newey’s departure from Red Bull will be a big blow to the team over the next few years, Hamilton is not so sure.
We just need to always remember that there are many people behind the scenes, and that there is not one key person. It’s not just one person, it’s a whole team of people who do the work. So, you can imagine, with all the incredible experience he brings to the team, the people he works with will continue to do an amazing job.
« I do not anticipate Red Bull ceasing to build big cars in the future. But any team would be lucky to have the opportunity to work with him.
