Aston Martin is aiming for a double in the 2027 F1 World Championship
Aston Martin is getting ready to enter a new era. Its owner, Lawrence Stroll, has invested significant resources, and the effects should start to be felt in the coming months and years. The British team hopes to be able to compete in the championships in 2027.

A new campus inaugurated last year, an ultramodern wind tunnel that will be operational in a few weeks, a talented engineer who will join the team in 2025… Aston Martin seems destined for a bright future given the investments made. If the British team successfully transitions during the 2026 season, with its share of new regulations, it could quickly compete at the front.
Surprising everyone in 2023 with eight podiums acquired, Aston Martin is struggling more this season. The Greens are suffering in the face of the domination of the four giants (McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes). They haven’t stepped on the podium in the first 18 rounds of the championship and are fighting fiercely to get into the points in each race.
Many new products
Aston Martin inaugurated during the summer of 2023 its brand new factory, located near Silverstone. This is also accompanied by a state-of-the-art wind tunnel. The first of its kind to be launched in Formula 1 for over twenty years. British engineers will therefore have at their disposal the most innovative campus on the grid.
New collaborations should enable the Silverstone team to reach new heights. Lawrence Stroll has recruited the brilliant Adrian Newey, who will join them in early 2025. Additionally, the team has secured exclusivity on Honda engines for the 2026 season.
Objective victories in 2026 and titles in 2027?
Guest of the podcast James Allen on F1, Jefferson Slack was led to discuss Aston Martin’s ambitions. The Chief Commercial Officer didn’t mince his words. « We must fight to win races and world championships, and that’s what we’re going to do », he declared.
The Briton is all the more confident since Adrian Newey was appointed as the new team principal for 2025. « Adrian is certainly a key factor for 2026, to fight for victories and, in my opinion, for 2027, for the world championships » Judge Slack
Is Adrian Newey a key factor?
Newey’s arrival from Red Bull was like a bombshell. The British engineer will bring all his talent to Aston Martin. For Jefferson Slack, there is no doubt: « He has won 25 world championships. He won with Williams, McLaren, Red Bull, and he will win with us […] He has always been the best at interpreting the new rules. This makes a huge difference, it bodes well for the story that we are the team of the future. »
The revolution started by the Greens is a process of five, six or seven years. And everything is being put in place for the team to become a reference in its sport. There is Adrian [Newey], but there is also a new facility, a new campus, a new wind tunnel, an agreement with Honda for 26 years insists Slack. Aston Martin seems well and truly ready for the future.
