Mick Schumacher: “Life doesn’t always go according to plan”
Still without a Formula 1 seat since 2022, Mick Schumacher posted a message on his social networks a few days ago, evoking the « setbacks » of life he has experienced.

Mick Schumacher is without a seat in F1 since the end of 2022 and his departure from Haas. He posted a message on his Instagram account on Sunday, referring to life’s setbacks. After winning the Formula 2 title in 2020, the German was a full-time driver for the American team between 2021 and 2022.
The first season was particularly complicated for him. However, in his second year, Mick Schumacher benefited from a much more competitive car and teammate, even though it was still far from the expected results. He was alongside Kevin Magnussen, back in F1, and while the Dane managed to place his Haas in the points in seven race weekends, Mick Schumacher only achieved this performance twice.
Dismissed by Haas at the end of 2022, Schumacher then became a reserve driver for the Mercedes team starting in 2023. Still without a seat in F1 in 2024, he joined Alpine in endurance.
« Life does not always unfold as planned.
This year, many driver changes have taken place, with a view to 2025, Mick Schumacher could hope for a new opportunity in the top category, but with the grid almost full, the chances are more than limited.
His collaboration as a reserve driver with Mercedes seems to be threatened according to rumors sending Valtteri Bottas to his position in the German team.
Mick Schumacher posted an enigmatic message on Instagram story this Sunday. “Life doesn’t always go as planned and setbacks can be tough to face,” explains Schumacher.
But every challenge is an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to come back even stronger. It is just a chapter, not the whole story. The journey continues, and I am determined to overcome this. Thank you all for your support, which means a lot.
