Pirelli tests: 3000 kilometers completed with 3 teams at Silverstone this week
Pirelli has tested three different cars with the 2024 tires, including running without tire warmers, during tests at Silverstone. The drivers covered over 3000 kms over the course of two days.

After the British Grand Prix, some teams stayed in Silverstone for a few more days. Haas, Williams, and Red Bull took part in the Pirelli tire tests.
Daniel Ricciardo for Red Bull, Pietro Fittipaldi at Haas, and Logan Sargeant at Williams have been testing the Pirelli tyres that will be used in the 2024 season. The Brazilian driver at Haas completed 124 laps on Wednesday. Logan Sargeant, on the other hand, completed 104 laps in just one day.
During Wednesday’s session, Pietro Fittipaldi achieved his best lap time in 1:33.634. As for the Williams driver, their fastest lap was completed in 1:32.448.
Pirelli announces that the drivers have covered 3,151 kms during the two-day testing with the 2024 tires. The Formula One tire manufacturer has obtained important data thanks to the involvement of the teams: « These two testing days have been very intense, and I would like to thank the teams and drivers involved for their support », stated Mario Isola, the director of Pirelli Motorsport.
Pirelli still faced difficulties during these two days of work. The variable weather, especially on the first day, made the work more challenging than we had hoped for, as the asphalt conditions were not as consistent as we would have liked. However, we tried to make the most of the available time, for example by studying the behavior of the new intermediate tires. Now comes the most important part of the work, the analysis of data on unheated tires, which will be compared to the data collected during previous tests,” continued the Pirelli director.
These tires should be implemented for the 2024 season, these rubber will not require tire warmers to function properly. A situation that worries the drivers.
Two more testing sessions will be conducted later in the season. Pirelli will carry out the testing sessions at Spa Francorchamps for two days, with two additional days of experimentation planned at Monza.
During the Japanese and Mexican Grand Prix, all the drivers on the grid will try out the 2024 tyres during free practice sessions.
