Pierre Gasly may have some regrets after his retirement in Las Vegas
The French driver, who started in third position, had to throw in the towel after a mechanical issue. He could have scored big points for his team ahead of the championship.

The emotional rollercoaster. After very strong qualifications, which saw him achieve the third best time, Pierre Gasly could envisage great things in Las Vegas. The Frenchman, two weeks after the magnificent result at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, had the opportunity to stand on the podium again.
But on the fifteenth lap, his Alpine was hit by a reliability issue, who forced him to throw in the towel. Frustrated, he dove into the pit lane to stop and get out of his single-seater.
Bounce back in Qatar
This outcome is quite tragic for him because there was a big opportunity to secure the sixth place in the constructors’ standings and even get closer to the fifth. In the end, the French team lost this sixth position, with Haas now having one more point.
« It is a very disappointing feeling today for all of us in the team. After the high point of yesterday with our performance in qualifying and our good position on the starting grid, today’s day is hard to take. We knew the race would be tough but ultimately, we were not able to show our potential after an issue with the car forced us to retire. We will draw the necessary lessons from this and strive to maintain our pace in Qatar next weekend. There is a lot at stake and we will do our best to come back stronger, analyzed the Normand after the race.
