AlphaTauri has been fined €5,000
Adjudged for a dangerous pit lane release, Nyck de Vries and AlphaTauri have been fined 5,000€. During the first qualifying session, the AlphaTauri driver exited his pit lane too quickly and ended up on Oscar Piastri's racing line.

The sanctions are pouring in. After the disqualification of Valtteri Bottas, it’s now Nyck de Vries’ turn to be penalized.
During the first qualifying session, the Dutch driver exited his pitlane too quickly and almost collided with Oscar Piastri’s car, who was driving on the fast lane. The AlphaTauri driver had to drive on the “working lane” to avoid the collision with Oscar Piastri, while the lane was wet and had low grip due to the rain. The stewards deemed the exit to be dangerous and Nyck de Vries will have to pay a fine of 5,000€.
At Silverstone, the driver will start in 18th position on the grid, while his teammate will start in 16th place. A very difficult start to the season for him and his team.
Note that the team, being responsible, will have to pay the fine and not its driver.
