Bahrain Winter Testing – Day 2: Hamilton and Ferrari Start the Day as Leaders
Idyllic start in the Bahraini desert for Hamilton and Ferrari. The British driver, confident, set the best time of the session, ahead of his former teammate George Russell and his predecessor in red, Carlos Sainz.

Adaptation appears to be quick and successful for Lewis Hamilton so far within the Scuderia Ferrari team. Indeed, the seven-time world champion dominated this second morning of testing at the wheel of his red car, recording a time of 1:29.379.
The Briton is ahead of his compatriot and former Mercedes teammate, George Russell, by nearly 0.4 seconds. The top 3 is completed by former Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, who positioned his Williams 0.7 seconds behind Hamilton.

On the French side, Pierre Gasly concluded this morning’s testing in 4th place at the wheel of his Alpine. The Norman is ahead of the Spanish double world champion Fernando Alonso.
This session was marked by two important events. The rain indeed disrupted this morning’s practice for a good hour, depriving teams of crucial track time. The second notable event was the contact between Oscar Piastri and Nico Hülkenberg.
A misunderstanding between the two drivers led to contact between the two cars at turn 8, without major consequences for either driver.
The morning session was also very short for Red Bull. Liam Lawson’s car was affected by a mechanical problem, forcing the New Zealander to spend a long time in the garage. Esteban Ocon, meanwhile, continued his groundwork on long runs, completing a large number of laps once again.
The practice session will resume at 1:00 PM, still live on Motors Inside.
