The Grand Prix Trust, a support fund created in 1987 by three-time world champion Jackie Stewart, welcomes two new members to its board of directors: Bernie Collins and Andy Stevenson. Both enjoy a strong reputation in the Formula 1 community.

Bernie Collins, who has become an essential technical voice on Sky Sports F1, previously held the position of head of strategy at Aston Martin. As for Andy Stevenson, he is a historic figure of the same team, which he joined at its inception in 1991, then under the name Jordan Grand Prix.

A commitment to the backstage of sports

The Grand Prix Trust helps people who have worked in the world of F1 for at least two years, whether they are currently active or not, and who are going through a difficult time. This caring organization, which receives little media coverage, operates behind the scenes to support mechanics, engineers, and paddock members who are sometimes overlooked.

Martin Brundle, former driver and commentator, chairs the Trust. He welcomed these two new appointments:

« We are delighted to welcome Bernie Collins and Andy Stevenson as new trustees of the Grand Prix Trust. They are two highly respected professionals in the F1 industry, with extensive experience and a genuine passion for our 75-year-old sport. As we seek to expand the reach and achievements of the Trust, their role will be essential. »

« A privilege » for Bernie Collins

Bernie Collins expressed her pride in joining an institution with strong human values: « I feel privileged to join the board of the Grand Prix Trust. I look forward to contributing to the fantastic work it does and making a positive impact. »

For his part, Andy Stevenson emphasized the importance of this mission behind the scenes of the discipline. “I am honored to have been invited to join the board of the Grand Prix Trust. The Trust plays a vital role in supporting those who have given so much to the world of motorsport, often behind the scenes. I am proud to contribute to an organization that offers concrete help and advice to members of our community when they need it most. It is a privilege to be part of something that reflects the values of care, respect, and long-term commitment in our sport.”

Concrete assistance and a vision for the future

Beyond its role of support, the Grand Prix Trust also offers a scholarship fund aimed at helping young people from modest backgrounds pursue studies and find employment in the motorsport sector.

In addition to Martin Brundle, the board of directors also includes iconic figures such as Ross Brawn, Jonathan Wheatley (director of Sauber), and Patrick Head, former technical director of Williams.
