Racing Stars Football Cup: F1 puts on its boots for a good cause
On the eve of the Monaco Grand Prix, the Stade Louis II vibrated to the rhythm of a gala match bringing together Formula 1 drivers, soccer legends and celebrities, all united in support of charitable causes.

On May 21, 2025, the first official edition of the Racing Stars Football Cup was organized by the Barbagiuans of Monaco, under the impetus of Louis Ducruet, president of the team since 2020. This event, held under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, continues a tradition more than thirty years old, combining sports and solidarity.
Stars on the lawn
The match featured iconic figures from motorsport and football. Among the participants, F1 drivers Pierre Gasly, Carlos Sainz, Isack Hadjar, and Thierry Neuville shared the field with former footballers such as Ludovic Giuly, Flavio Roma, Javier Chevanton, Gaël Givet, and Sébastien Squillaci. Personalities from other disciplines were also present like Greg, ex MMA fighter and the french singer Matt Pokora.
A strong charitable commitment
The funds raised during this event will be donated to two associations: the Jules Bianchi Association, created in memory of the tragically deceased driver, and Be Safe Monaco, founded by Camille Gottlieb to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Philippe Bianchi, father of Jules and honorary president of the association, expressed his gratitude: « This initiative deeply touches me, as it brings together several F1 drivers just before the Monaco Grand Prix, which was so important for Jules. »
Camille Gottlieb emphasized the importance of the event for her cause: « Having personalities from the motorsport world involved clearly helps us amplify our message. »
A festive and supportive atmosphere
Beyond the competition, it’s the spirit of camaraderie and solidarity that prevailed. Louis Ducruet stated: “That’s also what the Barbagiuans are about! I think it’s important to innovate and welcome other elite athletes into our team. It’s a step in line with our growth strategy.”
The event brought together approximately 3,000 spectators, who came to support a noble cause while enjoying a unique show combining sports and entertainment.
