Adrian Newey will remain with Red Bull “for many years”
Some rumors in the paddock were suggesting that Adrian Newey would retire or move to a rival team, but Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team, has confirmed that the future of their technical director will indeed be within the team.

Key piece of the Austrian team’s successes, Adrian Newey has been part of the structure since 2005 and has enabled Red Bull to capture 5 constructor titles and 6 driver titles over the past 15 years, thanks to Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.
Today, at the age of 64, rumors had started indicating a possible end to the relationship between the engineer and the energy drink. The team principal based in Milton Keynes, Christian Horner, then denied any insinuation of his technical director’s imminent retirement or move to another team.
« His heart is always in Formula 1 and his commitment to the team, it’s not a subject… » he commented. « We’re not talking about contracts or contract longevity, but he will be there for many years. »
« There will always be rumors in this paddock, it’s Formula 1. » Newey, of course, has a career that spans over forty years, punctuated by numerous successes, no matter where the Englishman has been, whether it’s at Williams, through McLaren, or now at Red Bull. All these teams have experienced success thanks to the brilliance of this man.
“He is an important and popular member of our team,” Mr. Horner added. “It’s great to have him with us in the long term, but also to be involved in some of the things we are currently engaged in.”
