Charles Milesi doesn’t see himself as a leader within his team
The Richard Mille team's pilot, who is participating in Le Mans for the third time, is supporting two rookies in this endurance race.

Charles Milesi arrived at Le Mans this year with the status of defending champion in the LMP2 category. The 21-year-old driver, who is part of the Richard Mille Racing Team, is participating in the world’s greatest endurance race for the third time, and this year, the Chaumont native is the most experienced among his teammates. However, he doesn’t consider himself to have the status of a leader.
« I don’t consider myself a leader, I have some experience but it remains relatively limited. There’s Alpine in the pitlane next to us, and they have experience. Nicolas Lapierre, Matthieu Vaxiivière, and André Negrao are better suited to give advice to Seb Ogier and Lilou Wadoux than me because I don’t consider myself experienced enough in endurance to explain everything from A to Z, as I still make mistakes, he explained.

The winner of the race in 2021, however, carried his team during the qualifications, since he achieved the best time for his team. With the 7th fastest time, he narrowly missed the hyperpole, but is satisfied with his performance. « Starting from the 7th position is pretty good. »
In the race, he will have to battle against teams that have bigger budgets – and theoretically better performances – but he believes that anything is possible and remains confident. « We don’t set specific goals. Our aim is simply to finish the race and not make any mistakes. If we stay out of trouble and avoid penalties, the result will come naturally. »
