The apotheosis of Max Verstappen: “now in F1, I have achieved everything”
The first very strong words from Max Verstapen since the Abu Dhabi paddock, the new Formula 1 World Champion, at the end of the last race of the 2021 season.

There had to be a winner, and history will remember that Max Verstappen claimed the crown of the 2021 Formula One World Drivers’ Championship. The Dutch driver secured his first title after a tremendous effort in the final lap of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The new Formula 1 king went through all the emotions this Sunday. He didn’t fail to mention it in the paddock, speaking into the microphone of Canal+.
« I couldn’t have imagined such a crazy end to the season. I had a bad start, we were too slow, we couldn’t keep up with the pace!
»
Max Verstappen was still thinking about the first part of the race, when he had to find a solution against Lewis Hamilton, who had overtaken him controversially in the first lap. The Red Bull driver took destiny into his own hands with his team and two tire changes on the 37th lap (to hard tires) and on the 54th lap during the Safety Car intervention, right at the end of the race.
Hamilton had not returned, so Versappen devoured the Mercedes driver, with fresh soft tires.
At the 2nd pit stop, I told myself that we’re going to give it our all until the end. It’s incredible, it’s an incredible feeling. Now, in F1, I’ve done everything. Everything that happens from now on will be a bonus,” exclaimed the Dutchman, who wanted more than anything to experience the thrill of becoming world champion. Max Verstappen is officially the 34th driver to be crowned Formula 1 world champion in history!
