The day has dawned on the Sarthe circuit and Porsche is gradually gaining the upper hand over Audi. The No. 19 of the Bamber/Tandy/Hülkenberg trio can hope to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After twice having to concede victory to Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton returns to the top of the podium by winning the Canadian Grand Prix. It's the 4th victory in the Briton's career in Montreal. A great performance by Valtteri Bottas who takes 3rd place. Disappointment for Ferrari with Kimi Räikkönen finishing in 4th place, just ahead of Vettel who made a great comeback.

The session was interrupted by two red flags caused by Felipe Nasr's accident and the breakdown of Jenson Button's McLaren.
