The tests for young drivers, or Rookies Test, will take place this year in Abu Dhabi from November 15 to 17. Teams can run drivers with little experience in Formula 1 - less than three Grand Prix races contested - or none at all. The 12 teams on the grid have announced their lineup of drivers for several weeks now, and here is the summary.

Austin is set to host the United States Grand Prix from 2012 at the Circuit of the Americas. Doubts about meeting the deadlines have been repeatedly reported by the press for several weeks, and Bernie Ecclestone has urged the circuit's owners and promoters to settle their differences by December.

Pirelli has completely changed the complexion of Formula 1 Grand Prix since the start of the season with the introduction of softer tires that last less than the Bridgestones. But the Italian manufacturer does not intend to stop there and could offer even softer tires to F1 teams in 2012.

Lewis Hamilton managed to end a difficult period in a beautiful way. The 2008 world champion had a magnificent Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to secure his third victory of the season. He was able to keep his rivals, Fernando Alonso, and also his teammate Jenson Button, who finished third in the race despite some issues with his KERS, at bay.

Fernando Alonso managed to stand out today in Abu Dhabi to finish on the podium, thus completing his trophy collection. The Spanish driver at one point hoped to compete with Hamilton for the victory before settling for this second place. Felipe Massa, on the other hand, experienced a race in two phases, with a good start on the Softs and a difficult finish on the Mediums, but the Brazilian hopes to bounce back in two weeks in Brazil and next year with a better car.

Both starting from the back of the grid, the Williams drivers managed a strong comeback but it wasn't enough to finish in the points. Rubens Barrichello finished 12th and Pastor Maldonado 14th after receiving a penalty for ignoring blue flags – and a second 30-second penalty after the race. However, both men expressed satisfaction with their performances today.

Sebastian Vettel seemed well on his way to continue his domination in Abu Dhabi, but a puncture decided otherwise. The German driver managed to return to his pit, but with his suspension too damaged, he could not continue, ending a streak of 19 races without a retirement. Mark Webber, on the other hand, did not have a difficult race and with a three-stop strategy, he could do no better than 4th. This Grand Prix also puts an end to a streak of 19 races with at least one Red Bull driver on the podium.

Jérôme d'Ambrosio did not manage to finish the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Belgian driver had a problem with his front brakes on his MVR-02, which forced him to retire early. His teammate, Timo Glock, managed to get ahead of the two HRT cars but still finished behind the two Team Lotus cars, resulting in a rather mixed outcome for the Marussia Virgin Racing team.

The Force India team hopes to finish in sixth place in the constructors' championship this season, and that seems promising. Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta both managed to finish in the points in Abu Dhabi, while Force India's rivals struggled. The whole team therefore hopes to continue their momentum to finish the job in Brazil in two weeks.

Kamui Kobayashi managed to finish the 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 10th position, earning a valuable point for the Sauber team in their battle with Toro Rosso in the constructors' championship. The Japanese driver was pleased with his race while Sergio Perez had hoped for better but struggled with his tires and KERS.
