The FIA officially downgraded Nico Hülkenberg at the end of qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix, after he exceeded the track limits in Q1. The decision was taken late, after the start of Q2, and forced the stewards to use a specific article of the International Sporting Code to rectify the error. Sauber's German driver, who had initially qualified for Q2, saw all his times cancelled and was relegated to sixteenth place.

McLaren development driver Alexander Dunne, a Formula 2 rookie, has just won his first race. The Irish driver benefited from a good tire strategy. Victor Martins didn't finish on the podium, despite qualifying well. Sami Meguetounif, the second French driver, finished 15th.

The aim was to consolidate the sport's technical and economic foundations, while preparing for developments beyond 2026. The meeting, chaired by Mohammed Ben Sulayem, brought together the heads of current and future engine manufacturers, including Audi, Ferrari, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Mercedes and Red Bull Powertrains.

Canal+ has just made the news official, and the Red Bull team should do so in the next few days. Yuki Tsunoda will drive the second Red Bull at his home Grand Prix, while Liam Lawson is expected to take over the Racing Bulls seat. No word yet on how many Grand Prix Tsunoda will drive for Red Bull.

Jack Doohan was a little optimistic on the last lap of the sprint race, spinning a driver and losing the benefit of his action himself. The FIA judged the maneuver to be too aggressive, and has sanctioned him by 10 seconds during the Grand Prix which takes place this Sunday morning, and by 2 seconds on his super license.
