In 2011, each Pirelli tire had its own color
Pirelli announced the colors used this 2011 season to distinguish the six types of tires. Each tire will carry its own color with the Pirelli and PZero logos displayed on the sidewall.
The six colors are as follows:
Humid – orange
Intermediate – blue
Super Tender – red
Tender – yellow
Medium – white
Hard – money

Our goal is to be a dynamic and colorful partner in Formula 1, » said Paul Hembery from Pirelli. « So what better way to symbolize this intention than with a selection of bright colors applied to Pirelli tires? »
« These actions will enable the general public as well as television viewers to determine at a glance which driver has which type of tires. Let’s recall that tires are key elements of a race strategy in 2011. »
Pirelli will offer hard and soft compounds for the first three races of the season, meaning that silver and yellow will make their appearance as early as Australia next week.
