F1 2010 had barely been released when Codemasters already announced they were working on its successor, F1 2011. As the Formula 1 World Championship kicks off this weekend in Australia, the developer has announced the release date of its next installment. Fans around the world will be able to race on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 starting September 23rd. However, owners of NGP and 3DS will have to wait a bit longer. No release date has been given for these two platforms.

Quite logically, F1 2011 will try to iron out the few flaws of its predecessor. Therefore, Codemasters’ title should offer slightly more precise gameplay, especially in the pits. Let’s hope this prevents having to wait around while the lollipop man lets all your opponents pass, leaving you at the back of the pack. The multiplayer mode will also be revised.

F1 2011 will feature all the teams and drivers from the Formula 1 World Championship. By the time the game is released, there’s no doubt that Codemasters will tantalize fans with images and videos of all kinds.
