After the tough weekend in Australia, the Mercedes GP team was determined to start this week better in Sepang. Mission accomplished for the German team. Both drivers are satisfied with the progress made since Melbourne and are eagerly anticipating the rest of the weekend.

Michael Schumacher – 3rd and 5th:

« We had a good first day. We definitely took a step in the right direction, we are closer to our performance level from Barcelona. I hope there is even more to come. »

«We had two typical Friday sessions. We tried many things for future developments and it seems we can make progress. Today, our aero and the KERS system worked well and I look forward to more to come over the next two days. »

Nico Rosberg – 10th and 7th:

«It was a productive day for us. We’ve made progress on our setup work compared to the last race and the team is working well. There are still issues we need to resolve, but I think we’re getting closer to our level. I’m now looking forward to the qualifications and we’ll try to reach a new level tomorrow.»

Norbert Haug:

«It was a productive day for the Mercedes team with a lot of laps covered and few problems. We focused on race settings, but there is still work to be done tomorrow.»
