Friday: Smiles return at Mercedes GP
First positive day at Mercedes GP. Both drivers were satisfied with the performance of the W02 and are pleased with the progress made compared to the first two races of the championship. The whole team is now focused on tomorrow, where they hope to confirm their good start to the weekend.

Nico Rosberg – 11th and 4th:
Today we made a small step forward, particularly this morning where we learned some positive things with the car compared to Malaysia. The balance was relatively good today and I really enjoy driving on this circuit.
We don’t really know where we stand at the moment, nor what each person has done, but today’s events give me hope for a good performance tomorrow.
Michael Schumacher – 18th and 5th:
«We had a good day’s work here. We changed our approach this weekend and I think it’s paying off. We focused on stints with a lot of fuel and it seems that we can find a better setup than starting with little fuel.»
The long stints were good as far as I am concerned, which is clearly an improvement compared to the first two races. There is potential to improve even more, so we need to see what we can do in qualifying.
Ross Brawn – Team Principal:
We had a reasonable day and completed all the work we had planned with both cars. The engineers and drivers did a good job between the two sessions to improve the balance, and everything went smoothly.
«It’s a good start to the weekend with a positive day. We’ll see how we can continue to make progress from there. »
