Friday: Williams progresses
A somewhat complicated day for the Williams team. Pastor Maldonado suffered several off-track excursions during the day's two sessions. The Venezuelan remains optimistic as he knows the circuit from having raced there in GP2 in the past. Rubens Barrichello once again faced issues with the KERS system, which cost him track time. Nonetheless, both drivers highlight the progress made thanks to the new package brought by the team and hope to achieve a good result.

Pastor Maldonado – 12th and 15th:
It was a bad day. It was humid in the morning, so we decided not to drive too much. In the afternoon, we lost time because the team was repairing the rear of my car after my accident in FP1. Then we went out on track, and the speed was there, but I made a mistake and lost the car at the exit of turn 8, hitting the safety barriers and damaging the front wing. However, I know the circuit and the car has improved, so I will be better tomorrow.
Rubens Barrichello – 14th and 16th:
The new package is encouraging but we had a KERS problem which meant our day was cut short. It’s a shame, but we are optimistic because the front wing, the rear wing, and the other parts are all working correctly and we are competitive. Our main goal is to qualify in the top 10 and that is quite realistic.
