Sunday: D’Ambrosio saves the weekend for Virgin

Virgin had high hopes for the improvements made to its MRV02 for the return of F1 in Europe. Unfortunately, some of the new features, including the low-blow exhausts similar to Red Bull's, did not work as intended. They will need to revise their plans for Spain, where the team hopes to make a significant step forward, especially as HRT is getting closer and closer.

Jérome D’Ambrosio – 20th:

It was a good race for me today. I was a bit on my own during the race because I was faster than the HRTs. I had a nice duel at the beginning, then I couldn’t keep up with the Lotuses, but it was good for me to conserve the tires and be able to execute a two-stop strategy.

«I am happy with my performances this weekend, particularly in qualifying, and the team has worked very well. I am eager to work with them to develop the package and hopefully we can take a step forward in Spain.

Timo Glock – USA:

A very short race for me. It was very frustrating to encounter an issue with the fifth gear just as I was about to head to the grid. I must say that the team did an amazing job trying to get me on track but in the end, it wasn’t possible.

Despite everything, I think we made some progress this weekend, but there is still a lot of work ahead of us. Everyone is very committed to achieving this, so we are focused on Spain where I hope we will have made enough progress to reintroduce the new floor and low exhausts, which should help us a bit more.
