Friday: Webber the fastest at Red Bull
For once, Mark Webber takes the lead position at Red Bull on the Barcelona track. The Australian already claimed victory here last year and hopes to repeat this good result on Sunday. However, as he stated on the sidelines of this Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel should not be underestimated. This promises an intense duel between the two teammates.
Mark Webber – 1st and 1st:
The car was running well today. We still have work to do, but it was one of our best days. It’s the first time we’ve driven the RB7 on this circuit with such temperatures, so the team learned a lot.
Tires are an important factor here, so we will see how to manage that as best as we can. It’s always a good track for me here, with hopefully a good result at the end. I hope to maintain this trend this weekend.
Sebastian Vettel – 2nd and 3rd:
«It was a very productive day. It was the first real chance to test the new hard tire specification, and I can confirm that they are really hard. »
Overall it was good, this morning wasn’t ideal but in the afternoon, I was happy. I think it will be tight this weekend, we seem in good shape but the others seem fast as well.
