Friday: Williams makes good progress
Like many other teams, Williams brought a number of new parts for this Spanish round. Both drivers of the English team are satisfied with this new package, although data still needs to be analyzed to improve performance and best prepare for the race.

Rubens Barrichello – 10th and 14th:
« We tested all the new parts we had here in Barcelona. On the track, the rear wing seems okay but we need to look more closely at the functioning of the floor. It was really hot today so the level of grip was lower and the car was sliding more, and the tire wear is more significant. »
The car oversteers a little. I think we need to look into that to try to minimize the problem and maximize our setup, but I think at this point we should have a minimum of four stops on Sunday.
Pastor Maldonado – 13th and 16th:
I think the day was good overall. We completed all our program and I’m happy about that. We also did some long runs in FP2. It’s hard to compare ourselves to other teams because we don’t know what they’re doing but everything seems to be going well. We have a lot of improvement but we still need to analyze the data.
Sam Michael – Technical Director:
«We completed our entire program today, which includes testing our new aero package on both cars. We have plenty of data to analyze tonight to finalize the specification we will use in the race this weekend. Some parts of the floor are certainly on the limit, so we will take that into consideration. We did not have any reliability issues today.»
