Friday: Q3 Target for Williams
The Grove team is making progress Grand Prix after Grand Prix. The new developments introduced in Montreal satisfy the team, which hopes to aim for Q3 in qualifying once again.

Rubens Barrichello – 7th & 10th
The team worked well today. We had a lot to do, so we had to split the schedule between Pastor’s car and mine. Everyone did a good job to get everything done, and we have a lot of information to work with, which makes me happy.
We seem to be in better shape here and that could help us gain a few positions this weekend. We will still need to work hard to reach Q3 tomorrow, but I think it’s possible.
Pastor Maldonado – 17th & 12th
« It was a positive day even though we encountered some problems with my car this morning, which meant we couldn’t run on hard tires, only mediums. We had a better afternoon and our pace seems solid, even on long stints. Everything seems to be OK, so let’s wait and see what happens in qualifying. »
Sam Michael, Technical Director
Even with the red flags, we really had a productive day with both cars. We evaluated the front and rear wings as well as the diffusers during both sessions and, fortunately, all the new components are working well. The tire behavior is improving a lot as the day goes on and it will continue throughout the weekend. We will now focus on the qualifications.
