Adrian Sutil – Non-participation and 11th

I had a lot of work to do this afternoon, so it’s a shame to lose so much time on the track. I was pushing hard with the super soft tires and hit the wall coming out of turn #7. This caused some damage to the suspension, and I had to stop the car. However, I think we have a good balance and we seem competitive this weekend. There will be a lot of work to do tomorrow morning because I missed a few long runs and didn’t do many laps with the super soft tires, but I’m sure we can still have a good weekend.

Paul di Resta – 8th and 6th

« Today, I really wanted to get familiar with the circuit. The track wasn’t very grippy during FP1 because there was a lot of dust, but the conditions improved a bit in the afternoon. We made some changes to the car, particularly with the ride height and aerodynamic balance, and I think the direction we took was positive. There’s more speed to come, but I’m happy with the progress we’ve made ».

Dominic Harlow

« We followed our usual Friday program and also tested a new type of medium tires for Valencia. We performed well during FP1 while Nico and Paul evaluated the Canadian aerodynamic package of the VJM04. During the second free practice session, the track continued to evolve and Paul was able to compare the types of tires available. Adrian touched a wall during his out lap from the pits with the super soft tires and was unable to finish the session. Overall, the car is performing very well and we’re looking forward to tomorrow ».
