Saturday: No surprise for Toro Rosso
The Toro Rossos are struggling and this was confirmed in qualifying, despite a good performance from Buemi. For Alguersuari, once again eliminated in Q1, the end of the road is approaching.

Sebastien Buemi – 15th
« I would say we are more or less where I thought we would be, fighting with the Williams and the Sauber. My best lap was very good but I’m a bit disappointed that half a tenth cost me two places. It was the right decision to go out for a final attempt in Q2 because, without it, I would have been further back. Now, we have to wait and see what can happen tomorrow because I think our race pace is a bit better than what we showed in qualifying today.
Jaime Alguersuari – 18th
I struggled with braking and, after this morning, we changed something on the set-up to try and improve the car for the qualifiers. It seemed better, but I locked the wheels during braking and a flat spot appeared on the front left tire, which limited my performance. This caused me to miss Q2, which is really unfortunate because the car had the potential to be fifteenth. I still believe we can have a good race tomorrow, but it’s important that we learn from this session to understand why we’re struggling and so that we can improve our qualifying performance in Valencia in two weeks.
Giorgio Ascanelli
The result of the qualifications is about what I expected, but perhaps even a little better than anticipated thanks to Sebastien. With Jaime, we are struggling, but we haven’t yet found a way to give him a car he can feel confident in. As for the race pace, the free practice sessions showed that we are in fairly good condition. I hope for a dry race tomorrow because if it rains, I don’t think it will be to our advantage.
