The F1 Barometer after the Canadian GP
After each Grand Prix, Motorsinside.com offers you an overview of the drivers and teams currently in form, thanks to our consistency rankings. At the end of each race, the ranked drivers are awarded points ranging from 24 (for the first) to 1 (for the last), which creates a consistency ranking that you can discover in our 'Rankings' section.

Who would be leading the championship if only the last four Grand Prix counted?
Although he let victory slip away on the last lap, Sebastian Vettel remains the unshakable leader of our ranking with 95 points out of a possible 96 in the last four Grand Prix races. However, the German driver has a new runner-up in the person of Jenson Button, who is on a streak of three podiums, including a victory in Canada. The Briton is tied in points with Mark Webber but now has a valuable win.
Sensation, in 4th place, as Kobayashi was one of the 4 strong men during the last 4 races, particularly in Monaco and Montreal. The talented Japanese driver is ahead of Rosberg and Fernando Alonso, who gives up his place. However, we have to go down to 7th place to find Lewis Hamilton, who, if he had managed to secure the points in Monaco, pays the high price for his withdrawal in Canada.
While Buemi, Schumacher, and Petrov make progress, Heidfeld, following his retirement in Canada, misses a good opportunity to consolidate his position in the standings.
To note is Sutil who drops out of the top half of the table in favor of Rubens Barrichello. Great improvement from Alguersuari who moves from 21st place, 15 days ago, to 14th place today, while both HRT drivers pass in front of Timo Glock.
On the constructors’ side, the top three remain unchanged, but Ferrari does not take advantage of its current favorable conditions and drops from 4th to 6th place. The impressive performance comes from Sauber, which, with only one driver in Monaco and after a last-minute withdrawal this weekend, still manages to climb to 4th place among the most in-form constructors over the last four races. A small shake-up at the bottom of the standings, as HRT now leads Virgin, just like in the official Constructors’ standings.
See you in two weeks, after the European Grand Prix, to see how the standings have changed.
