Sunday: Kobayashi and Sauber close to the feat
After an excellent start on a wet track, Kamui Kobayashi somewhat fell back once the track dried up. Meanwhile, Pedro de la Rosa may have a few regrets.

Kamui Kobayashi – 7th
We scored points and, ultimately, that’s the most important thing. We proved that we are good in the wet, but when the track dried my pace was not good enough to defend my position. I qualified in 13th place so it wasn’t unpleasant to finish 7th, but on the other hand, I started second after the red flag and in that context, my result is disappointing. I really tried to bring the car to a better position, but it didn’t work.
Pedro de la Rosa – 12th
« First of all, I would like to thank the FIA. They stopped the race when it became too dangerous, and I think all the safety cars were timely. Before the red flag, it was impossible to drive: visibility was nil, and I was aquaplaning at any speed. However, I started 17th and was 9th when the race resumed. But just before the restart, Jenson Button and I made contact, and I had to pit because my front wing was damaged. That ruined my race, I lost many positions, and I lost even more when I got stuck in first gear. On top of that, I lost time because of the backmarkers. I tried to climb back as quickly as possible, but the points were out of reach. I must say it could have been a better day; the team came up with a very good strategy, and I thank them for that. It was a very eventful race, especially for someone who just discovered the car. I won’t forget these days, that’s for sure. »
Peter Sauber
The weekend started very badly for us with Sergio unable to race due to health reasons. However, starting 13th and 17th on the grid and scoring six points is a result we can be proud of. Nevertheless, we are slightly disappointed because after the restart, we hoped for more. But the race circumstances did not help us. Congratulations to Kamui for his great race and a big thank you to Pedro for his efforts.
