Friday: Tests Full of Lessons for Red Bull
If Mark Webber set the fastest time in Free Practice 1, his teammate, however, remained much more discreet, and some observers claim that the Milton Keynes team ran the German driver with a view to the Silverstone Grand Prix to measure the real impact the FIA's decision to restrict blown diffusers will have on the performance of his RB7.

« We used medium tires during the first session and they weren’t too bad. The first session went well, there were a lot of people testing many different things with different fuel loads. In Free Practice 2, it was a bit clearer. We started slowly then we put on the soft tires. The long run went well and we collected a lot of information for the race. Even if the track temperature should be different on Sunday, it should still be useful. »

« Sometimes you try different things, which is normal for a Friday: there were no secrets for us today. This morning we were on a different program, but this afternoon we were on the same program as the others. The times were very close, but I had good feelings with the car. It was much better this afternoon, so we’ll see what we can do tomorrow. We had a good race here last year, but it was close with Lewis and Fernando, it changes from one race to another so let’s wait and see. »
