Sunday: Improvements expected at Mercedes
Michael Schumacher was quickly eliminated in the race for points, and it was Nico Rosberg who scored points for the Mercedes GP team, struggling behind the leaders.

Nico Rosberg – 7th
« I am happy with my 7th place today, it’s the maximum we could get from the car. It was great to overtake Jenson at the start. We made the right strategy choice with the three stops. The introduction of DRS was positive for the race here and we saw some great overtaking maneuvers. Now, we have to focus on the next two home races to close the gap with the faster teams. I’m sure the whole team will work hard before Silverstone and I look forward to racing in front of so many team members or their families ».
Michael Schumacher – 17th
« It wasn’t a very satisfying race for me today. The race was over after the fifteenth lap when I collided with Petrov and lost the points I could have brought back. Our race pace would have allowed me to finish more or less in the position where I started, but that’s speculation after the crash. I saw Petrov quite late, even though I knew he was coming, and I tried to brake as late as possible to take the corner with him. But when I wanted to turn, I locked the front wheel and hit him. It was clearly my fault. After that, the race was over, and I just brought the car back to the finish line. We are heading to Silverstone, which is one of our home races.
Norbert Haug
« Nico’s 7th place is what we had hoped for today, finishing behind the three leading teams with our current technical package that is not sufficiently competitive. The team is working very hard to have improvements ready so that we can close the gap with the other teams. Michael had an unfortunate incident very early in the race, and the additional stop it caused prevented him from scoring points ».
