Button: “We have a good rhythm this year”
After a good start to the season and Lewis Hamilton's victory in China, the McLaren team seems to be slowing down. However, Jenson Button remains confident for the upcoming races.

The 2009 world champion, winner of this year’s Canadian Grand Prix, is not too worried after his team’s poor performances in Valencia and Silverstone last weekend:
“Maybe we lost a bit of the momentum we had built in previous races, but not much,” he said. “Although Silverstone was disappointing, our pace has been good this year. Sometimes we have been faster, sometimes we haven’t.”
It is true that, behind Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari seem to be sharing the points, podium places, and occasional victories.
The director of the British team, Martin Whitmarsh, also seems to remain confident for the future:
There have been a lot of uncertainties in recent weeks regarding the blown diffuser regulations. Its ban penalized our performance at Silverstone as we observed. But our team shows immense passion and dedication, and it loves taking on challenges.
The Englishman remotivates his troops but does not forget Hamilton’s beautiful performance at the last Grand Prix:
« We narrowly missed a podium at Silverstone. And this race clearly shows us that we must always fully invest to make our car even more competitive. Our opponents do the same. »
Here is something to reassure some members of the Woking team who may have been full of doubts following McLaren’s recent underperformance, particularly against its great rival Ferrari.
