Sunday: both Team Lotus cars at the finish
With both cars finishing, Team Lotus is rather satisfied with their weekend. This is particularly true for Karun Chandhok who, despite a few mistakes, finished the race in his first competition since last year.
Heikki Kovalainen – 16th
« I think it was a very good race. For me, everything worked wonderfully in the car, but honestly, I was a bit isolated. We aren’t quite with the guys in front of us and we’re ahead of the teams behind us, so I wanted to make sure I could attack as strongly as possible throughout the race, make no mistakes, and bring the car back in one piece. We are moving in the right direction, and it will take time to really be able to fight with the guys at the front, but we will get there ».
Karun Chandhok – 20th
A race completed in its entirety and a lot learned on my part. Honestly, it’s not the race I wanted: I had a high-speed spin and I think I need time to get used to the tires. When they start to degrade, there’s very little feedback on the track compared to last year’s tires, but it’s part of the learning process and I’m glad to have brought the car home and to have done my best.

The main objective today was to bring both cars home and ensure that Karun could learn as much as possible over the race distance. It’s a good thing for him to have covered 60 laps and shown a good pace. I’m very happy with Heikki’s speed on the soft tires: we obviously have a lot of work to do, but it’s another baseline, so overall, I’m very happy.
