Timo Glock – 17th

« After a good start to the day, with the announcement regarding my future with the team (editor’s note: Timo Glock has extended his contract with Marussia Virgin until 2014), it was quite a difficult race. I struggled with the brakes from the middle of the race and wasn’t able to push later in the race, so we’ll have to look into this issue. Apart from that, thanks to the team for this good race weekend at home. It’s a shame it’s so cold, but we’re now looking ahead to Hungary with better weather and I hope we can achieve another good result there ».

Jerome D’Ambrosio – 18th

I’m happy about my weekend. I feel like I’m back on the right track and, moreover, I can make more progress, especially in qualifying. I’m heading in the right direction. The last few weekends have been a bit difficult, and it’s this one where I need to focus. I want to keep this momentum going in Hungary, before the summer break, and stay as close as possible to Timo.

John Booth, team manager

« It’s a beautiful way to finish Timo’s home race. After announcing a contract extension with him this morning, the day ended on a positive note as both our cars finished the race. We knew that the option tires would be more effective, which is why we used them for most of the race and waited until they were very worn to switch to the prime tires. Jerome struggled at the start, but after the first stop, he found his pace as the fuel tank emptied and caught up with Ricciardo, overtaking him before the second stop. We had a small issue with the braking system towards the end of the race, which slowed his pace. Overall, a satisfying result for the team that works well under pressure ».
