Sunday: Betting Affair at Virgin
With two cars finishing, Marussia Virgin delivers a good performance. As in qualifying, the two drivers had different experiences, with Glock delivering a good race and D'Ambrosio losing the gamble on intermediates.

Timo Glock – 17th
A very interesting race today, I must say, and very fun. I got a very good start and overtook Heidfeld as well as a few guys in faster cars and was able to stay ahead of them. Obviously, they were able to overtake me as soon as the track started to dry, and I just focused on my race, trying to maintain the gap with my pursuers. When it started to rain, we made the right decision by staying on slick tires. It wasn’t easy to stay on track, but we got a good result in the end. It’s a great performance from the team in difficult conditions: they made the right decisions, and good pit stops made the difference. Thanks to them for their work, they deserve a bit of a vacation to come back in shape for Spa.
Jérôme D’Ambrosio – 19th
« I am really disappointed, but the conditions were difficult. I had a very good start and I was happy, but I made a mistake when the rain came by choosing to stop for intermediate tires when I should have stayed on track with the slicks. I lost a lot of time with these stops and had a tricky moment when I spun in the pits. Fortunately, I didn’t hit anyone. It is definitely not my best race ».
John Booth
An incredible start from Timo at the beginning of the race. On a wet track, he managed to fight with cars that are usually a few seconds ahead of us. The rest of his race was quite calm, as the engineers and he made good decisions, particularly when it was raining on two-thirds of the track and he stayed on slicks. Jérôme also delivered a good performance, but his decision to switch to intermediates wasn’t the right one. However, if there had been more rain, it could have worked. The team in the pits was exemplary today with two excellent stops in difficult conditions. The final stops for both drivers were disrupted by a slippery pit lane, and unfortunately, Jérôme got caught out.
