Sauber wants to reduce its environmental impact with Oerlikon
Environmental awareness is a growing concern for car manufacturers and is increasingly relevant to F1, as evidenced by the adoption of new measures starting in 2014. Sauber has thus decided to partner with Oerlikon, a specialist in plant and machinery construction, to reduce its environmental impact.

The two companies have been long-standing partners, as the Oerlikon Coating branch has been one of the Swiss team’s suppliers for coating machines for many years.
The CEO of the Swiss company, Michael Buscher, explains this new stage of the agreement: « With its coatings for heavily used components, Oerlikon Coating has long been a partner of Formula One and the Sauber F1 Team. Environmentally friendly technologies are increasingly important within our company. With our expertise and collaboration with Peter Sauber’s renowned team, we want to do our part to improve their environmental rating. »
One of the outcomes of this partnership will be the installation of solar panels to power the Hinwil headquarters. The other commercial aspect of the agreement includes the logo appearing on the suits and equipment of all Sauber team representatives.
