The Malaysian thus continues his progression in a structure he initiated in 2009, after being part of the Malaysian adventure in A1GP. He got in touch with Tony Fernandes through his previous employer, the Malaysian automaker Proton, which was behind the return of the Lotus name in F1 last season before the relationship between the two companies became more complicated.

After having been at the origin of the F1 structure, then GP2, he was in charge of integrating the Caterham constructor during its recent buyout. Now, one of his priority tasks is to expand the merchandising divisions and other missions beyond the core teams: « In F1, the objective remains the same: to grow in the long term and achieve our goals within a realistic timeframe. Next year, we need to take another step forward, and we have the necessary building blocks in place to do so. On the road, we will produce efficient, lightweight, technologically innovative cars, and above all, cars that 21st-century customers around the world want to buy. We have a lot of talent, knowledge, and experience pushing our core business forward every day, ensuring us a great future in all our areas of interest. »

This appointment therefore constitutes a logical step in establishing a sustainable structure, capable of long-term development with a well-organized framework.
