Jérome d’Ambrosio is eager to discover Monza
Jérome d'Ambrosio will drive a Formula 1 car for the first time at the Monza circuit, and this does not scare the Belgian driver at all, who is even eager to take on this new challenge.
After discovering one of the mythical circuits of Formula 1 aboard his Marussia Virgin: Spa-Francorchamps, which was also his national Grand Prix, Jérome d’Ambrosio is eager to tackle another Formula 1 legend: Monza, the temple of speed.
“«My national Grand Prix has passed, but I will never forget that it was a fantastic weekend. I would like to thank all the Belgian fans for their support, it was a truly special weekend and it’s always great to race at home, » said Jérome d’Ambrosio.
The Virgin driver is looking forward to getting behind the wheel of his MVR-02 on Friday for the first free practice session. D’Ambrosio knows that speed isn’t everything at Monza; it’s especially important to have a good car for braking and one that can handle the curbs well to negotiate the chicanes effectively.
«Now I can’t wait to drive a Formula 1 car at very high speed in Monza. Speed is important, but stability during braking is also crucial, as is the car’s ability to handle the curbs well. The atmosphere in Monza is also very special, with all the Italian fans supporting us in the stands, » added the Belgian driver.
