Vijay Mallya wants more points
Following the good performance of his team in Spa, Vijay Mallya hopes for more results from his men. But above all, he remains optimistic for the rest of the season.
During the summer break, like all other teams, Force India worked hard on its car. The objective was to arrive in Belgium with numerous notable developments. This has been achieved since the Indian team brought back good points from the Belgian weekend, to the great satisfaction of its director: « I particularly enjoyed the last race in Spa. Adrian’s seventh place reflects our current pace well. Despite this, the qualifying session was difficult, and I must admit we were lucky in the race », Vijay Mallya confessed on the team’s website.
Moreover, he is generally satisfied with the team’s performances, although he hopes for more consistency in the results: « Analyzing our last 3 races, I am very happy with the level displayed by the team. We were able to take 20 points and thus move up to 6th place in the constructors’ standings. Our goal now is to build some momentum ».
But the Indian billionaire was optimistic about the Italian Grand Prix: « I hope the race at Monza will allow us to bring both cars into the points. The VJM04 was very comfortable in Belgium, and our drivers found it competitive and well-balanced. Like Spa, Monza is a low-downforce circuit. So I am full of hope for this weekend! ».
Mallya finally stated that his team was on track to score more points until the end of the season.
