Saturday: HRT drivers at the back of the grid
Once again, the two HRT drivers are at the back of the starting grid for a Grand Prix. The only difference this weekend is that the young Daniel Ricciardo is ahead of the experienced Vitantonio Liuzzi for the first time this season. Tomorrow, the two men will fight at the back of the pack with the Virgins.
Vitantonio Liuzzi – 22nd and 24th
« Overall, even though we are last, it’s a good qualifying session since the car performed well throughout the circuit. I just couldn’t make the most of it because I was often hindered by my competitors during my fast laps. So, I’m last at the end of Q1… Nonetheless, I am optimistic for the race because our pace is good. »
Daniel Ricciardo – 24th and 23rd
« Not being last on the grid and ahead of Tonio is a certain satisfaction for me. Additionally, I had set myself the goal of beating my teammate. So I am happy! The weekend in Monza has been difficult so far because we had some small mechanical issues during free practice. Therefore, we weren’t able to run as much as we would have liked. I gave it my all this afternoon and I am satisfied with the work done! Now we need to focus on the race and find the right settings. »

« For us, the pace is good and the times are satisfactory. We must take into account our troubles yesterday and the limited track time we had. The weekend’s work was almost completed during this morning’s session. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s race and I hope both our cars will reach the finish line.
